It's like having social gatherings pre-scheduled for five months!
For the last 15+ years, I’ve had the honor of working with teens in a variety of roles—as a life coach, foster mom, youth leader, and most importantly, as a mom of three. I know firsthand the challenges teens face as they try to figure out who they are, where they belong, and how to believe in themselves in a world that often tells them they’re not enough.
That’s why I created Connected & Skilled. This program is where teens not only gain lifelong confidence-building skills, but also connect with other teens who are on the same journey. This is more than just a program; it’s a safe, empowering space where teens learn how to speak up, trust themselves, navigate challenges, and build meaningful relationships.
I believe confidence isn’t something you're born with—it’s a skill, and like any skill, it can be learned and strengthened with the right tools, practice, and support. And that’s exactly what I provide. Through real-time coaching, practical tools, and engaging activities, I guide teens step by step to discover who they are and how they want to show up in the world.
Each meet-up of Connected & Skilled is thoughtfully designed to focus on a specific life skill that supports your teen’s confidence and emotional well-being.
Drop off/pick up in North Peoria, AZ (exact address will be provided after registration)
Teens will explore what it takes to build and maintain meaningful friendships through a super fun, interactive game night. They will roll dice, play cards, and have real conversations while learning friendship skills, communication, and texting etiquette that lead to connection, fulfillment, and joy. Will there be prizes? Yes, of course!
We will have an action-packed evening at a local martial arts studio where teens will learn real self-defense skills from a black belt instructor. Beyond the kicks and strikes, they will build confidence, focus, and respect - learning to move with agility, discipline, and heart both on and off the mat.
We will pack meal kits for families at A New Leaf - a local shelter supporting survivors of domestic abuse, while learning easy, budget-friendly recipes teens can make themselves. It’s hands-on service, real-life skills, and a chance to give back in a meaningful way.
Teens will learn how to make money work for them through hands-on lessons in saving, spending, budgeting, and money management. They will explore interest rates, personal banking, the basics of investing, and real-life money choices that build confidence and independence. Guests from JP Morgan will join us - passionate, fun professionals who love helping teens build smart money skills.
Teens will roll up their sleeves and build a wooden toolbox from start to finish. They will learn to measure, cut, and assemble while practicing patience, focus, and problem-solving.
Teens will learn the value of giving back by volunteering at Vineyard Community Charity Food Bank. At this morning event, we will prepare and hand out food boxes to community members in need. They will learn the experience of what it feels like to work hard and give back, all while connecting with peers.
A night of friendly competition and laughter on the mini golf course! Teens will practice focus, patience, and a positive attitude as they navigate each challenge. This lighthearted evening helps them build confidence, connection, and emotional control - all while having fun with their peers.
Teens will learn the essential skills to land a job, including résumé building, completing applications, interview techniques, and understanding employer expectations. Through mock interviews and hands-on practice, they will gain confidence and practical experience for the workplace.
Teens will gain hands-on knowledge of car care, basic maintenance, and tire changes while learning the essentials of car insurance and safe, responsible driving. These practical skills help teens feel confident behind the wheel - and give parents peace of mind. Teens who are already driving will have the opportunity to help lead this night!
To wrap up the semester, we will be celebrating our friendships and connections! Each participant will share something special that they like to do with the group to feel connected and practice their communication skills in front of a group.
*The order of activities may change due to availability of tools/outside partners. Due to schedule being published so far in advance, it is possible that sessions will be moved to a different date. Advance notice will always be given.

This program is designed for teens (typically ages 11–17) who are ready to grow their confidence, learn life skills, and build meaningful connections with peers in a supportive, judgment-free environment.
The program runs over five months, with two in-person group activities per month. In addition, your teen will receive a one-on-one session each month with a certified teen confidence coach!
We get it—life happens. While the magic is in showing up in person, if your teen is not able to attend a session, your teen can still receive any supplies provided for the missed session. Coaching topics missed during group sessions can be reviewed during 1:1 sessions.
No. Connected & Skilled is a coaching and skills-based program, not therapy. While it is personal growth-focused and highly supportive, it is not a replacement for mental health treatment. Teens with mental health concerns are welcome to join, in addition to professional support.
Creating a safe and welcoming space is my top priority. Teens aren’t forced to share or participate until they’re ready. I specialize in making them feel seen, heard, and accepted—so even the quiet ones find their voice here.
This program is for your teen—but I’ll keep you in the loop! You’ll receive short monthly updates and encouragement so you can support what your teen is learning at home, without taking over their experience.
You’re not just signing up for a program—you’re giving your teen tools, support, and relationships that can positively impact the rest of their life. If your teen walks away more confident, more connected, and more capable of handling what life throws at them—that’s a powerful return.
Absolutely—your teen is welcome here. The nature of the Connected and Skilled program is designed to offer a flexible, supportive environment where teens can participate in ways that feel most comfortable to them. Whether your teen needs more time to respond or wants to observe before participating, we make room for individual needs. This format allows teens with various diagnoses to feel safe, respected, and empowered as they build confidence and life skills at their own pace.
Yes! This program works beautifully alongside therapy. While therapy often focuses on healing and mental health, Connected and Skilled is about learning practical life and confidence-building skills in a positive, proactive setting. Many teens find that what they learn here enhances what they're working on in therapy—helping them apply insights to real-world situations, grow their self-esteem, and connect more meaningfully with others.
Sign up today! Spaces are limited and this program will fill up.
